This location was one of my best in 2019, it sits between old growth forest on the left and big open muskeg on the right.

Checking Cameras and Watching Whales

Took the kayak out and spent a couple days checking cameras I haven’t visited since early June.

_{This is a new spot. A bunch of trails meet here to cross a creek, but so far it hasn’t had much traffic compared to my other cameras in this area.}

I set this camera to record videos.

The paddle home was interesting, watched a sea lion eat breakfast and a pod of humpback whales search for herring.

A fern waving in the wind filled up my SD card, but this spot was doing pretty well before that happened.

Highlights from Another Camera

Mid May through early August

I covered a lot of ground the first 2 weeks of deer season to check several cameras that needed fresh batteries. I still managed to harvest a young buck for my (previously) empty freezer, and ran into a big one while hunting with my camera. I didn’t get a picture of him, but he visits one of my trail cameras regularly.
