October 5 – February 6
This was a good spot, but the wind kept blowing the rain and snow onto the lens of this camera so most of the pictures were pretty blurry. I will probably set a camera here again this spring, but on a more sheltered tree.

This site is about running trail cameras in Southeast Alaska and other outdoor activities.

For the first time in a few years I’ve been taking down most of my cameras this winter to dry them out for a month or 2 before I find new homes for them this Spring. Some of my cameras have been attached to the same tree for so long the strap is growing moss.

I got a little carried away last summer when setting cameras so a few went 8 months without getting checked, I was surprised this one made it until November before the batteries went dead because I changed them last April.

I took advantage of the nice weather this weekend to retrieve some cameras. I hope to bring most of my 40+ cameras home and let them dry out until April or May.

This first area I had 5 cameras that I hadn’t visited since September, the batteries were dead in 2 but somehow the other 3 were still recording.

I got to all the cameras there before dark so loaded the ‘yak back up and paddled to an area where I could collect 3 more cameras.
