May 10-11 I replaced the 6 cameras I have in this location. This spot gets a lot of interesting activity but when the creek is high it triggers the camera a lot but fortunately not enough to completely fill the SD card. I started shooting videos here last summer. I put a camera back here,Continue reading “Hiking, Kayaking, and Checking Trailcams”

Hiking, Fishing for Trout and Setting/Checking Trailcams.
May 27 I checked 5 cameras and set up another This spot has been disappointing but since it has only been set up for 3 weeks I left it and will move it next time if things don’t improve. This camera has been doing great, but I think I need to aim it a littleContinue reading “Hiking, Fishing for Trout and Setting/Checking Trailcams.”
Hiking and Checking Trailcams, May 21
Wolves ate a deer here. You can tell the work of a pack of wolves as their victim is spread out because they don’t like to eat next to each other, and most of the smaller bones are broken up or consumed. I checked 4 cameras and added another to this area I set aContinue reading “Hiking and Checking Trailcams, May 21”
Hiking and Setting 3 Trailcams, May 14
I set a camera here to watch an intersection on this main trail. I replaced the camera I have here, this has been my best spot in this area and the only camera I left running over the winter here. I put a camera back in this spot, I always get some interesting activity here.
Setting up 4 Cameras
I set a camera here to watch an intersection of a main trail and a few secondary trails. This camera overlooks where a bunch of trail cross the top of a ravine which starts at the left side of the picture. This spot is full of skunk cabbage which is just beginning to grow soContinue reading “Setting up 4 Cameras”
1st Hike Since January
Hiking, setting trailcams, and catching Sea-run Cutthroat and Dolly Varden I moved 1 of the 4 cameras I left out all winter in this area and added 3 more. Moved a camera here. This opening in the brush looks like a good spot to capture bucks butting heads before the rut and it’s on aContinue reading “1st Hike Since January”
First Hike of 2023
Didn’t bring any trailcams with me but I did make some waypoints of future possible camera locations.
Last hike of 2022
I set 9 cameras in this area hoping for pictures and videos of the wolves that live on the north end of Ketchikan, unfortunately most of what I got was blurry do to moisture on my lenses, but I did get one good video of them. I left the 3 camera I have set toContinue reading “Last hike of 2022”
Hiking and Checking Cameras 12/27/22
Left 1 and brought 2 of the 3 trailcams I checked home for the winter. I pulled this camera because though it did pretty good it was not good enough to use again next year. I took this camera home to let it dry out over the winter but I will be putting it backContinue reading “Hiking and Checking Cameras 12/27/22”
Hiking and Checking Cameras
I took these cameras home for the winter and will find new homes for them next spring. I left these cameras out, if we get any serious snow I probably won’t be able to check them again until April. I switched this camera to take photos because the batteries last longer in that mode. I’mContinue reading “Hiking and Checking Cameras”
